Jammu & Kashmir, a state which is believed to be the heaven on earth has always been surrounded by politics, war, violence and appreciated for its beauty but was always neglected when it comes to duty.
In the Samba District, Jammu, STEM Learning played a very vital role in upgrading the education system for underprivileged students through CSR. We installed Mini Science Centre on 15th September, 2015 in Govt. H.S. School, Uttar Bihani. The CSR initiative was taken in collaboration with Lupin Foundation. Since then about 55+ students have been benefited. Mini Science Centre clarifies the concepts of science and tech more efficiently and help the teachers in making learning a fun process.
MRS. Romika Rajput, Mini Science Centre in-charge Govt. H.S School said “Students get to learn so much in Mini Science Centre and enjoy it as well. Because it’s practical, students get to observe real objects and materials. They also get to learn laboratory skills. Their scientific attitude is being developed and learning by doing activity is generating interest”.
Aman Kumar, Student Govt. H.S School said, “There is a Mini Science Centre installed in our school unlike others, hence our school is different. The difference between me and my friends from other school is, they study in a school which doesn’t have Mini Science Centre, so they come to me for understanding the difficult concepts.” Aman always wanted to make a drone, he researched and found that drone has some limit up to which it can fly. Later when he observed floating fan in Mini Science Centre, he innovated that by adding more fans, the flying limit of drone could be increased.
Mini Science Centres are making students curious. Students are learning by observing STEM Mini Science models. Around 200 students now have access to Mini Science Centre in J&K district. It proved to be a huge help for the student.
