STEM Learning Presents the Second Edition of the ‘National STEM Program’
stemlearning , along with CSR Partner Brillio & Online Partner JustLearning, is organising the ‘National STEM Program 2020-21’. This annual event is exclusively organised for the Government and Government aided schools. The virtual program will begin on 5th August 2020. This spectacular event encompasses competitions in three categories: Science and Maths Model Making, Tech Quiz and Engineering Tinkering. The competition will go live every Wednesday from 2-3 pm over a Zoom call. The weekly reward system will motivate and grant special prizes to the winning participants.
STEM Learning aims to have a sustainable impact with this initiative. By making the most of the current situation, we move ahead with the zeal to ‘make it happen’. The students will participate in the event from the safety and comfort of their homes. We encourage ‘learning by doing’ and propagate broadening the understanding of STEM concepts through these competitions. This weekly engagement will ensure students keep building on their strong foundation in the STEM field. Students have been learning with the Mini Science Centre exhibits that have been instrumental in building their scientific temper. While classroom learning with the exhibits is effective, the next step is to connect and collaborate with the students through inter-school competitions so that they get a wide exposure, can hone their STEM skills and their holistic development is achieved.
After witnessing the success of the ‘National STEM Awards 2020’, the high need for this event is being met through the ‘National STEM Program 2020-21’. Last year, STEM Learning in association with Rotary JBN, Bengaluru organised India's biggest and first STEM competition for the school kids. Around 20 states, 200 schools, 400 teachers, and 1800 students were part of this competition. Students from 6th to 8th standard participated in the event. There were different competitions like Tech Quiz, Science and Mathematics Model Competition and Engineering Tinkering. This was a rare opportunity to showcase young talent in STEM fields at the national level. The final battle was fought at Bengaluru on February 27th, 2020. The winners of the competition were felicitated the next day at the Rotary Karnataka CSR Conference 2020.
